AMY’S CARE – Get Involved
Minibus Drivers, Trishaw Pilots & Administrators
Minibus Drivers: Our ongoing work is providing a wheelchair accessible minibus for hire to community groups and individuals who need help with transport & mobility. We need volunteer drivers to help those that need it to use the bus.
Trishaw Pilots: Also as part of our ongoing work is taking folks out for rides on our trishaw bikes, a truly wonderful vehicle bringing fresh air, towns & countryside back into peoples lives in a very special way. We need volunteer pilots(riders) to peddle and steer. Fitness no obstacle as they electric and you know what they say, its just like riding a bike!
Administrators: All the above takes lots of admin. Volunteers are needed in varying support and admin roles. For example arranging transport/rides for users and coordinating volunteers to drive/pilot, or vehicle checks and maintenance. We have a role for everyone, please help!

The ethos was belief in providing a stimulating and engaging environment that promotes inclusion leading to a fulfilled life. Because life is for living..

Amy’s Care – REAL SOCIAL VALUE
Operating for over 10 years Amy’s Care has proven a model of excellence in care with huge social value. Inspired by Grandma Amy started with the intention of helping older adults enjoy life Amys Care surpassed all expectations in the benefits it provided for a much wider range of individuals than was ever anticipated. Carers, family, friends & health professionals and services all benefited alongside the “club member”.
The model is available for free, fees will only be applicable for assistance with implementing services & consulting.
Amy’s care continues to use its minibus and trishaws for the benefit of the community.
Additionally Dementia Adventure are using the bus for their northern holidays which enables them to use affordable accessible transport and in turn supports the Minibus financially enabling us to do what we do.
Our current goal is to keep the minibus on the road and available for the wider community to hire on a “not for profit” basis. It will be based in Keswick (where there is currently no wheelchair transport available) but can be used for other locations. It is aimed at community groups, care homes, education and aided by Amy’s Care volunteer drivers or private users requiring wheelchair transport for pleasure or business.
Anyone wanting to support the continuation of this community project, both trishaws and minibus can donate with their trishaw pilot or bus driver, alternatively use the donate button here or in the menu.
